Description: The Maybird Gulch Trail branches from the Red Pine Trail at the bridge near the landmark buttress. The trail then travels westward as it crosses over the ridge. The Maybird Gulch Trail climbs steadily to the Maybird Lakes. The trail offers a great view of the Pfeifferhorn. When winter comes, the Maybird Gulch Trail becomes a popular snowshoeing and backcountry skiing location.

Description: The trail leading up to Grandeur Peak begins at the top of the Church Fork picnic area. You cannot park in the picnic area but there is a parking lot for the trail where the trail starts. The Grandeur Peak Trail climbs from the picnic area to the summit of Grandeur Peak. The summit of Grandeur Peak offers a view of the Salt Lake Valley and a large portion of the Wasatch Front from Neff’s Canyon on the south to Francis Peak on the north. This trail is open for most of the winter and can be hiked nearly year round. The Grandeur Peak Trail begins at the end of the road at Church Fork Picnic Area. Parking is limited at the end of the road. Parking is not allowed in the spots for the picnic sites. Additional parking is available on Mill Creek Canyon Road. The trail follows Church Fork Creek for about 1/2 3/4 of a mile. The trail narrows and then you follow a few switchbacks. The trail passes through a rock field, parallels the ridgeline for awhile and then leads straight to Grandeur Peak. After snow begins to fall, it is common to see snowshoers and backcountry skiers along the Grandeur Peak Trail.

Description: Alexander Basin is a lovely alpine basin that is only a short drive from Salt Lake City. This area offers some great Hiking and allows you to quickly forget about the city. The Alexander Basin Trail leaves Mill Creek Canyon Road above Clover Springs Picnic area about 7.8 miles up the canyon on the south side of the road. The trail climbs steeply to Alexander Basin after about 1 mile of Hiking. Alexander Basin is a glaciated bowl that is located below Gobblers Knob. The Alexander Trail continues around the should of Gobblers Knob to join Bowman Fork Trail at just under 3.0 miles. If you continue on the Bowman Fork Trail, you will eventually join the Desolation Trail in 1.5 miles. When the snow falls, the Alexander Basin Trail becomes the domain of snowshoers.

Description: The Dog Lake Trail is a short side trip from either the Lake Mary Trail or the Clayton Peak Trail into the cirque of the small Dog Lake. When snow begins to fall, the Dog Lake Trail becomes the domain of snowshoers.

Description: The Clayton Peak Trail takes off from the Brighton Lakes Trail 1/2 mile from the Brighton Lakes Trailhead. The trail enters an area formed from the large glacier that filled the upper part of Big Cottonwood Canyon to Cardiff Fork several thousand years ago. Clayton Peak (also known as Mount Majestic) offers a panoramic view of the Brighton Lakes area, the Wasatch Mountains, the Uinta Mountains, Heber Valley and Mount Timpanogos. During winter, the Clayton Peak Trail becomes the domain of snowshoers.
