Choose correctly - the first time
Buying a snowboard depends on your commitment to the sport and how you plan to use it. If you get off on freestyle, jumps and rails, choose a good quality freestyle board. But if you don't plan on hitting the park hard, an all-around freeride board will suffice.
Buy a board depending on your height, weight and ability. The longer the board, the harder it is to maneuver. A board, when placed vertically on the ground, should reach a point between your chin and nose. Anything above the eyes maneuvers with difficulty.
